11/7/2008 - 2 News Alerts
1. Roger Parsons, an ex-cop and now paraplegic becomes yet another victim of John Grogan's fraud. Nine months after purchasing the 'Academy in a Box', Roger received only half the materials and was refused a refund.
2. Three more possible Grogan Box 'instant examiners' have been located and added to the site.
9/2/2008 - Another Grogan Victim has come forward with her story of things Grogan told her while she was a member of a PEOA.US.
8/6/2008 - A new page has been created on TAG showing possible relationships with Grogan and what appear to be some of his "Instant Examiners". This new page includes background on how "Instant Examiners" are created.
If you find any more websites that might fit the Grogan mold, let me know.
7/23/2008 - 3 news alerts
1. The victims page has many updates to it. We have had two more victims come forward with their stories that are a must read.
2. We have suspicions based on examiners coming to me in private that Grogan may be fraudulently running up pay per click fees of other 'competing' advertisers. We are working on getting the proof to back this up. In the meantime, if you advertise through pay per click search engines such as Google's Adwords, then keep your eye out for unusually high click throughs on your paid advertising. When I mean unusually high, I mean that normally it would take 30 days to use up all the funds for a click through campaign and instead you wake up one morning and all your funds are gone because of massive click throughs.
If you suspect this may be happening to you, let us know. The more patterns we see, the more evidence we can put together to do something about that.
If you have no idea what I mean by all this pay per click stuff and want to understand better, just shoot me an email or call and I'll do my best to explain.
3. And the domains just keep rolling in.
I have figured out the pattern:
First it was a national website - peoa.us
Second came state websites - azpolygraph.com & .org
Third and the newest is websites by county - orangecountypolygraph.com, etc.
Grogan has put up a site for every major county in Southern California. Newest discovered are:

I count a total of 58 Grogan websites now. I guess when he gets down to creating the 'canogaparkpolygraph' alliance, he'll finally be able to tell the truth about having the largest network of examiners... in his own neighborhood. An alliance of one.
7/16/2008 - I have several small pieces of information to share in this news alert:
1. Grogan has decided to branch out his imaginary networks to voice stress. Take a look at his new site vsaoa.com. Same deception, different venue. You'll notice 90% of the links on this page have no content in them. Obviously, we don't support Voice Stress and as much as I'd wish he would leave the polygraph profession, I simply can't wish Grogan's entering into a new field on even my worst enemy. Will it ever end?
2. Since the exposure of this site to legitimate examiners about Grogan, it appears he is having to recruit, through PI list serves, unwitting private investigators that Grogan can turn into "Instant Examiners". Here is a sample email of just such recruiting.

3. I received information from Michael Martin of the Global Polygraph Network that Grogan once applied for membership there but was denied. Here is an excerpt from Michael's email.
...he (Grogan) applied for membership with my organization (Global Polygraph Network) in 2005 and was denied membership because (1) he had never completed an accredited polygraph school and (2) he could not produce even one chart from one exam he had ever conducted in his life (he said his hard drive crashed - even though he boasts using several different instruments).
That makes me wonder. Has anyone ever seen one of Grogan's charts? Probably not. If they did, there would be no way of hiding that he is NOT a polygraph examiner, but a fake.

Why is this important? First, it is unlikely that any person could complete their 6,000 hours (approximately three years full time work) of employed investigative experience WHILE enrolled as a full time student in High School. This casts doubt on the integrity of her 'qualified manager'. It is possible that the qualified manager may have falsified the number of real investigative hours to speed up the process of getting her a license, which of course would be fraud and right up the alley of what John Grogan was proven to be doing when he lost his own license.
We have already shown in the Relevant Issue #142 that Kathryn Grogan only graduated High School in the Spring of 2007. This was confirmed by the El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills.
On her website kathryngrogan.com/kathryn_grogan.htm, the copy there states:

also have a screen shot of this from the website in case it gets

Notice above that her own website says she entered COLLEGE in 2004!
So unless she is one smart kid and attended High School & College at the same time, this is an outright lie.
The California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services has been alerted to this for investigation.
This licensing is highly suspicious. Could it be that John is using his daughter to continue his fraudulent practices under her license? Time will tell.
6/16/2008 - John's PI Company "Gold Star Investigations"
has eight complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau, all of
which have gone unanswered. The BBB has given a rating of "F".

allege the company collects funds for various security or investigative
related services, but fails to provide services as agreed. Some
complainants allege they hired the company to perform lie detector
tests on individuals and supply a written report based on the test
results. Customers complain no results are ever provided despite
repeated attempts to contact the company. In other cases, complainants
allege the company made verbal representations that they were
responsible for composing the State exam required by BSIS for private
investigators in the State of California, and could therefore provide
study materials and test assistance. Complainants report no study
materials are sent."

6/09/2008 - Two entries have been found at ripoffreport.com showing complaints against John Grogan. The first complaint is a customer who ordered John's 40 lb polygraph academy in a box for over $800 but has never received the product.

6/08/2008 - John Grogan has apparently conducted another live examination on the Adam Carolla Show where he is testing a seventeen year old kid as to whether he is really a virgin. Of course, the examination is filled with more poorly developed polygraph questions and John is somehow making distinctions between something being 'truthful' or 'very truthful'.
On the official Adam Carolla Radio Show Blog, you can read about how the show and polygraph went as well as note that two responders to the blog spoke out about John Grogan to inform the public.

5/30/2008 - We have added a PDF containing the complete 31 page BSIS Complaint History on Grogan which led to his license revocation. We have also added a 5 page PDF on the Judge's Decision as we now have a better copy than was originally used in the issue #138 article.

To spread a net across the Internet in which John snares the unsuspecting public into his web of deceipt. Don't be fooled by what the sites say, ALL ROADS LEAD TO JOHN HIMSELF! You will notice nearly all sites give you only one option and that is to call or email John at which time he WILL, in the words of one of John's old acquaintances, attempt to "baffle you with his 'bulls__t and separate you from your money."
